NFL Power Rankings before Week 4 matchups

  1. Buffalo Bills - The Bills take the top spot this week after cruising to 3-0. The Dolphins made it look close, but they weren't stopping the Bills offense. The Bills continue to be efficient in all parts of the offense. The defense struggled a bit against the Fins but they are still without their DT Ed Oliver and the Dolphins played a much better game than they've been playing. That was a coach on the hot seat facing an 0-3 record against a divisional rival. The Bills are the best of the best right now.

  2. Philadelphia Eagles - The Eagles are the new Chiefs. They don't look at the beginning of the year but they win. They win those ugly games over and over until they've finally straightened things out and dominate the rest of the year. The Eagles are still a scary bunch.

  3. Baltimore Ravens - That just was not a clean game by the Ravens and not what we are used to seeing. Couldn't punch it in from the one. Allowed some pressures that aren't normal. Allowed big runs up the middle. Henry has fumbled three games in a row. It was a bad game from a good team and I need to give some credit to the Lions as well. But the Ravens fall from the top spot this week.

  4. Los Angeles Chargers - Started the season with a divisional sweep of maybe the toughest division! The Bolts are rolling and look incredible. They have an elite pass defense and seem to be in mid season form on offense. Jim Harbaugh has done it again. This was my Super Bowl pick to start the year at +3200, and I couldn't feel better about it. You can still get the Chargers at a pretty favorable +1500 at some books.

  5. Kansas City Chiefs - They won! The Chiefs finally won! The Chiefs still did not look very good but got in the win columnn and now have to host the angry Ravens. One of those teams will be 1-3! Crazy!

  6. Green Bay Packers - I've been saying the Browns defense is very good and that was just a great performance from the Browns. The Packers still passed pretty efficiently but couldn't run the ball. The Packers defense couldn't stop the run though and that was the difference. Green Bay's highly touted OL and DL lost both battles.

  7. Detroit Lions - This team has cleaned it up from whatever we saw in week one. That was a great win in Baltimore. They beat the Ravens at what the Ravens do best. The Lions stopped Henry multiple times in short yardage, they contained Lamar, they played a very good and clean game in all facets. I and many others doubted Dan Campbell and this Lions team, but they look great again. They are still running very creative offenses plays and calling great defenses. It's time Dan and his current coordinators get some credit.

  8. Denver Broncos - The Broncos played a pretty clean game but couldn't convert on 3rd down. They are getting better though and should be favored in at least 6 of their next 7. The schedules have been heavily front loaded this year. This is already the 3rd 1-2 team on this list.

  9. Los Angeles Rams - Wow. What a loss. Were up 26-7 on the champs and even after the huge comeback the Rams were in position to win with two late field goals but BOTH were blocked. A devastating fourth quarter for the Rams, but they played well enough to stay at 9 this week.

  10. Washington Commanders - The Commanders played well without Jayden Daniels and had a rather easy victory against the Raiders. If it weren't for a fumble and a missed field goal this game could have been even more of a blowout. The Commanders look solid.

  11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Another game winning drive from Baker Mayfield. This team isn't great defensively and they get too many penalties, but they are gritty. If they have the ball last in a one possession game they are dangerous.

  12. Minnesota Vikings - Can you plug and play any QB in that O'Connell system? Cousins, Darnold, McCarthy, Wentz, it doesn't seem to matter who is playing QB over there. With Flores' aggressive D and KOC's offensive play calling, the Vikings are a dangerous team as well, especially late in the year.

  13. San Francisco 49ers - Mac Jones has held it together for the Niners, but it sounds like Purdy may be back this week against the Jags. This team is suffering some injuries, but is still playing pretty well. The defense looked better this week and the offense is efficient.

  14. Houston Texans - The winless Texans better get figuring something out soon. It's hard to be better than your weakest link and that offensive line might really be worst in the league. The defense is solid, the skill players on offense are good, and the coach seems right too. This Texans team is close but severely lacking in the most important positions.

  15. Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks had an efficient day through the air against the Saints. They go to State Farm Stadium this week in a pairing of 2-1 teams.

  16. Atlanta Falcons - Well that was as bad as a team can look. I'll try to overreact to that terrible loss, but that was really bad. Coach Raheem Morris has already said that Penix is still the starter. So we will see if it was an outlier performance or something to be concerned about. The defense is still a surprising bright spot for the Falcons this year. 30 points to the Panthers may not look like it, but they were battling awful field position all day and 7 of the 30 was a defensive TD.

  17. Indianapolis Colts - This team keeps climbing. They have a chance to prove themselves in LA this week against the Rams. The Colts are looking good, but their strength of schedule is one of the worst in the league.

  18. Arizona Cardinals - Arizona is a solid, average team. They will have a tough time making the playoffs, but they shouldn't be overlooked.

  19. Jacksonville Jaguars - The Jags didn't move the ball as well against this Texans defense, but did enough to win. They dominated the Texans offensive line which doesn't seem too impressive this season.

  20. Chicago Bears - Many are praising the Bears and their "offensive breakthrough" but I am not buying it. Caleb Williams still missed wide open receivers many times. It was a step forward for the Bears, but there are a lot of teams that could torch the Cowboys defense right now including a bad team who just benched the QB who threw for 450 yards against them last week.

  21. Dallas Cowboys - Did Micah Parsons really hide how bad this secondary is? This secondary needs some help in a hurry. Lots of talk in the offseason was how they couldn't run the ball. Well they run it pretty well, but have made two bottom half offenses look elite. The good game against the Eagles is proving to be an outlier for this group.

  22. Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers all but got beat by the Patriots. 4 lost fumbles by the Patriots handed the Steelers the game. Only one fumble was a strip sack. The other three were running back coughing up the football. The Steelers played a bad game and look like they need help on both sides of the ball.

  23. New York Jets - The Jets played hard but left Baker and the Bucs too much time on the clock. It looks right now, like they will be without Justin Fields for at least another week.

  24. Las Vegas Raiders - The Raiders couldn't couldn't stop the run and couldn't pressure the pass either. The Commanders completely stymied the Raiders biggest weapon.

  25. Carolina Panthers - Where did that come from? The Falcons had been playing pretty well. I don't know if we can credit the Panthers with their terrible game, but taking advantage of mistakes is part of being a good team. The Panthers let the Falcons beat themselves and stomped on them. A dominant divisional win for the Panthers.

  26. Cleveland Browns - This defense is so good. They just shut down the team that had looked unstoppable. The Browns have their issues, but they are a difficult win to get.

  27. New England Patriots - This team is not the much improved team that many predicted. They have only played bottom third teams and are 1-2. They get another bottom third team this week when they host the Panthers.

  28. Miami Dolphins - They moved the ball and some very impressive drives against the Bills. This team is 0-3 and needs to find a win badly this week against the Jets.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals - This team needs Joe Burrow. They are so bad in so many areas.

  30. New York Giants - Benched Russell Wilson for rookie Jaxon Dart right before playing maybe the best pass defense in the league. Sometimes these moves are laughable. Daniel Jones is currently 3rd in total passing yards. Russell Wilson threw for 450 yards two weeks ago and his currently 6th in the league in total passing yards. These are the quarterbacks that the Giants have decided weren't good enough to play. You're up Jaxson Dart.

  31. Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward is actually playing pretty well with as far behind as this team is. The Titans could go winless and their fans should probably hope for that. This team needs a lot of improvement.

  32. New Orleans Saints - It's a battle for the worst of the worst and I am on the Saints. The showdown between these two is December 28. Get your popcorn ready.
