NFL Power Rankings before Week 3 matchups

  1. Baltimore Ravens - Still the best. They dominated a division rival without even using Derrick Henry.

  2. Buffalo Bills - Also dominant without one of their best guys. I thought this would be a tough matchup for the Bills with DT Ed Oliver out, but they handle the Jets run heavy offense with ease.

  3. Philadelphia Eagles - They don't look pretty but they still have the best roster and they still win.

  4. Kansas City Chiefs - I know everyone is just itching for this dynasty to fall in dramatic fashion, but you all are jumping the gun. This is a great team and they will show it very soon. Two tough losses against top 5 teams. One was in Brazil and the other they won most stat categories and just had some misfortune. They will right the ship this week and crush everyone's hopes of the Chiefs going 0-17.

  5. Los Angeles Chargers - Still my favorite team of the year. Jim Harbaugh is a magician. This team is so good and is already 2-0 and 2-0 in the division. They will move to 3-0 after beating the Broncos this week. Is any other team starting with 3 divisional games?

  6. Green Bay Packers - Dominant. Absolutely dominant. Many probably have them above 6 and I wouldn't call them wrong. This unit has looked effortless in their first two wins and against top 10 teams! All 6 of these top 6 teams are real contenders.

  7. Denver Broncos - What a tough loss, but we can't blame the officials or Dondrea Tillman. 473 total offensive yards is way too many. The Broncos were supposed to be an elite defense, but they lost this game. Must regroup and be better. Surtain only missed one series in the game and seems to be ready to go next week as well.

  8. Washington Commanders - The Commanders defense isn't good enough against the elite teams and it showed. However, this was still a decent showing against one of the league's best. They werent as efficient on offense either but that Packer team is rolling right now.

  9. Los Angeles Rams - The Rams get the opportunity to show their stuff this week in Philly. I like this Rams team, but I don't believe they are in the elite tier. We will see what they have for the Eagles who seem to just be skinnying by.

  10. Detroit Lions - A thumping from the Packers and then a thumping of the Bears. Is this a top 10 team? We will certainly see this week in Baltimore.

  11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - I've seen some experts jump this team as high as 7th. I really like this team's fight and ability to win on the road. They are THE team that no one wants to play.

  12. San Francisco 49ers - Looked good with Purdy out, but the defense is not getting great results. I am not one to panic, but this defense is definitely raising some questions. They host the 2-0 Cardinals this week.

  13. Houston Texans - The second 0-2 team in my top 15, but they are still a tough team and I still think they are a playoff team. Their division no longer looks like the easy run we thought it would be. So starting 0-2 is less than ideal, but I still think this team is the favorite in the AFC South.

  14. Atlanta Falcons - This Falcons team looks very good. They have just played very clean against two pretty respectable teams. Look for Atlanta to continue making some noise.

  15. Minnesota Vikings - The rookie showed for this second year player in just his second game. You can tell that Kevin O'Connell is calling the game very carefully so far, and while it worked against the Bears, we saw it go off the rails against the Falcons. O'Connell is a great coach and will have this team so much better in the second half than they are right now, but don't expect too much yet.

  16. Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks silenced the Steelers fanboys for now. They were the better team by quite a bit and showed the weaknesses of the senior citizen QB. This Seahawks team is very "middle of the road" but they have so savvy veterans that will win some tough games.

  17. Dallas Cowboys - Well a win is a win, but that was not a pretty one. No disrespect to Russell Wilson, but I am not sure there is anything more demoralizing for a football fan than watching a guy basically close his eyes and dream launch a ball up in the air and having it caught over and over. Defense needs to get better, but with a pretty good offense and Brandon Aubrey, this team is looking better than many projected.

  18. Arizona Cardinals - This team seems to always be in close games. I don't see much coming from the Cardinals this year, but they are 2-0 so party on! While it lasts at least.

  19. Jacksonville Jaguars - A pretty good offensive performance again from the Jags but against a bottom half defense. Burrow left in the second quarter with the Jags winning 14-7. The Jags picked Browning off three times but gave up three touchdowns and lost 31-27.

  20. Indianapolis Colts - Indiana Jones! What a surprising start from the Colts. They have shocked the world and look like they might actually be a legitmate playoff team. It's still very early, but the Colts are looking darn good.

  21. Chicago Bears - Still giving a new young coach time to get it going, but that was a bad game. Caleb Williams doesn't look to have any poise at all. The OL has been penalized over and over. The defense is horrific. They are always so injury riddled, and that is biting them again already this year. They look like an easy win for any of the top passing offenses.

  22. Cincinnati Bengals - Who will they get? Will they stick with Browning? Wentz, Winston, Cousins, Garoppolo? We will see but this team just got a lot worse.

  23. Pittsburgh Steelers - Many were ready to crown Rodgers the MVP after his late game heroics against the Jets, but they have to pump their brakes this week. Rodgers did not look good at all against the Seahawks.

  24. Las Vegas Raiders - This team is going to be competitive this season because of Pete Carroll and Maxx Crosby, but the rest of the team just isn't very good. Geno was off all game, the line can't give Jeanty any space, and the secondary is pretty poor. Pete will mask a lot of it this year though.

  25. New York Jets - The Jets surprised me this week with a blowout loss to the Bills. Or maybe the Bills did. The Bills were playing without their star defensive tackle, Ed Oliver, against a run heavy Jets offense. Either Oliver is not as important as I thought he was or the Jets really a

re a bad team. Again, it's only week 2.

  26. New England Patriots - Again, a win is a win is a win. Almost gave it up though to a team who looked maybe the worst in week 1.

  27. Carolina Panthers - The Panthers are proving me wrong and looking pretty bad. They do have a good passing game, but the rest of the team is struggling pretty badly.

  28. Miami Dolphins - It is looking like rebuilding time in Miami and a surprise to no one.

  29. Cleveland Browns - The Browns hung in there for three quarters, but couldn't keep it up all game. A defensive touchdown by Roquan Smith sealed the deal for the Ravens. That defense is very good and held Henry to only 23 yards on 11 carries.

  30. New York Giants - The Giants surprised us all with some electric offense, but I don't see that happening every week. Russ definitely secured his starting spot for another week though.

  31. Tennessee Titans - This a rebuilding team that needs more than a first overall pick.

  32. New Orleans Saints - This is also a rebuilding team but they are moving the ball and scoring like they aren't content being at the bottom.
