Here are my Power Rankings after Week 3:

Oregon ducks lead this week's power rankings

  1. Oregon - The Ducks didn't have a flawless game against Northwestern, but they still dominated. Rivalry game next week against the Beavers and then the showdown in State College.

  2. Ohio State - Still owns the best win of the season thus far and has the best team money can buy.

  3. Georgia - The Dawgs haven't been the Kirby Smart led team we are used to seeing, but they got the job done in one of the toughest road environments in sports.

  4. Alabama - This Tide team might be too high on my list, but maybe not. I still think they have a great team and if they can figure it out, they will be a very tough beat. The OL, DL, and DBs are some of the best in the nation. DeBoer and Simpson could certainly mess it up, but that FSU team might just be better than any of knew.

  5. Penn State - I can't say they've been particularly impressive yet against lesser opponents. So will they use the extra week and finally rise to the hype and beat a top team? We will see. The Nittany Lions are off this week before getting the Ducks at home next Saturday night for the White Out.

  6. Texas - This team has been nothing but disappointing. They shouldn't be this high, but it turns out that there are quite a few disappointing teams so far this year. This team has a great roster but might not be good enough in the trenches.

  7. Texas A&M - This was my sleeper team of the year and still is. This roster is very good and can dominate the trenhes. They won in South Bend and now they get a tough Auburn team at home. The Aggies are an unpopular contender this year.

  8. Notre Dame - Toughest schedule by far but they've dropped 'em both. I think this team will look great the rest of the way but they need to dig deep and show it. The poor Purdue Boilermakers have to go to South Bend and play the angry Irishmen.

  9. Miami - I am not a believer. Yet. Beck is still missing throws. The secondary looks pretty weak. I am not a buyer yet on the Hurricanes. They won an opener at home. It was a good team, but those season openers are strange games. I am not jumping the Canes over a lot of these teams yet. I barely believe they are 9.

  10. Tennessee - The Vols lost a big one at home. Gave up 500 yards of offense. A poor performance but the offense hung in there are made it a game. This team can score.

  11. LSU - The nation went crazy for these guys, and I thought it was premature. Turns out I may have been right. The two "big wins" this team has have fallen out of the AP rankings entirely.

  12. Florida State - This team is the surprise of the year. Are they for real? They have a pretty easy schedule for the rest of the year. They could run the table.
